Sports Structure
The highest level of the sportstructure in Hungary is the Ministry of Child, Youth and Sport. They have a department responsible for sport. Included in this program you can find the sport of disabled people under the label ‘fogyatékosok sportja’. Among other things you can find special sports, list of sportclubs with contacts and addresses, laws (!), invitations for application and tenders and links to the website is available for blind and vially impaired.
The second most important level is the National Sportfederation of Disabled. It works as an umbrella federation. There are 7 members of the Federation, each specific according to the type of disability. The website gives you information on members and working structure of the Federation, European and Hungarian Sportlaws, decisions and news, actual and previous information and news, yearly calendar of sport events, data sheets for competitions and a photo galery.
Another level is the Hungarian Paralympic Committee. The committee is under the supervision of the National Sportfederation of Disabled, but a really specific area. . You can find on the web page the structure of the Committee, past and present of disabled sport, news, braches of sports, upcoming Olympic Games and related news, sponsors and partners.
The next level is the regional or county structure. There are 20 organizations for disabled, one in each county. These organizations focus on leisure time sports and youth sports or school sports. On the website of the National Sportfederation of Disabled in Magyar you can find the contacts to the regions under the label "kapcsolataink".
