Educational Structure

The structure of education of individuals with impairments and disabilities is included in the Law about Special schools and in notification of Ministry of Education from the year 2000. This materials includes conditions for running  of special elementary and high schools (for children with visual, mental, physical and hearing impairments from 6 until 15 years old). There exists possibilities for the separate education in public schools and private schools. New  integrative tendency provide to visit inclusive classes or special classes within the elementary or high school.   

Education for trainers/ teachers

The main responsibility of Physical Education or Adapted Physical Education is undertaken  by the university study at the faculties in Bratislava, Nitra, Banska Bystrica, Presov. Students are trained in the methodolical aspects of working with various disabilities, both theoretical courses and practical sessions .
